Abby Cooper grew up in the heart of the Canadian Rockies snowboarding every weekend. After her first experience in the backcountry at age 14, she was hooked. Since then she has been dedicated to furthering her knowledge and training. Abby has many avalanche courses under her belt as well as her Wilderness First Aid responder. In 2014, She attended the Alpine Finishing School – a ski mountaineering course in Revelstoke, BC and polished up her mountaineering skills. After high school she up and left to Driggs, Idaho so she could attend university and snowboard the Tetons first hand. After graduating with a photography and advertising degree Abby up and moved again, this time to Whitefish, Montana where she worked for a cat skiing company and traveled the rest of the year in more the familiar Canadian mountain ranges for various ski and snowboard magazine assignments. Most recently Abby has settled down in Whistler, BC and is loving her new backyard. She enjoys using the backcountry on foot, on a splitboard, while wearing crampons or hiking boots. When this girl isn’t tackling a mission or wrapping a photoshoot you can find her with friends, at the yoga studio or at the beach with her pup.
