Our partners are integral for our success and growth as a national avalanche campaign. Please consider supporting these businesses and organizations as we work together to reduce avalanche fatalities.
The mission of the American Avalanche Association (AAA) is to promote and support professionalism and excellence in avalanche safety, education, and research in the United States. Registered as a 501c3 organization, we have members, snow and avalanche professionals and winter backcountry enthusiasts, from all segments of the snow and avalanche industry and from all regions of the U.S. Our goals are to represent the interests of the professional avalanche community, provide support and leadership on programs and initiatives that support our mission, and work to foster connections amongst pros between regions and across different segments of the industry for the overall benefit of the entire snow and avalanche community.
Partnering with the efforts of Project Zero seems like a natural fit for the AAA, as the mission and goals of Project Zero clearly overlap with our own. While the focus of the AAA is the professional community, the goals of Project Zero to more effectively reach the general public with consistent messaging on avalanche safety and awareness provides a great compliment to our efforts and copious opportunity for collaboration. Through our partnership with Project Zero, the AAA can support and help be a conduit of information and idea exchange about avalanche safety between pros and the general public. Project Zero invests time and resources into determining what the most effective messaging will be for the public, and the AAA and our members can help spread these messages across the country.
